doubt on date of bank statement for maintenance funds

Post by sri_sunny » Fri Sep 26, 2008 6:08 am

Hi,

Can anyone clarify a doubt I have?

1) My maintenance fund period would be between 01st Sep to 30th November, 2008 (3 months period)
2) I have an appointment on 5th Dec, 2008 for filing my papers
3) I understand my bank statement should be within 7 days preceding the date of application ie dated between 28th November to 5th Dec.

Lets assume I print my statement and the manager's letter on 29th November to file on 05th Dec. Given this circumstance, I am confused that on 29th November I wouldnt've completed 3 months (maybe 2 days left)

Those who know the process, can you please tell me if its ok to print on 29th or should I have to complete 3 months and then print the bank statement/letter?

Thanks in advance,

Sri_sunny

I dont understand why you are confused. You must prove that you have held the requisite amount of maintenance funds for at least 3 months. If, on 29 November 2008, you will not have held the maintenance funds for 3 months, it will be inadequate, and your application will fail. It makes no difference that you would have held the funds for nearly 3 months on that date.

Wait until you have statements covering at least 3 months before applying. In your case, this means waiting until at least 30 November 2008, when you will be able to obtain statements covering the mandatory 3 month period.
