Kid British passport expiring soon travel

Hello,

My nephew is 6 years old and he and his parents currently live in India they all have british passport & OCI cards. They will be travelling to India. My nephew's British passport is expiring in 3 months, Will he be allowed by Stupid to board the flight? is there a rule that passport needs to have more than 6 months validity to be allowed to travel? His OCI card has longer validity by my understanding is that OCI card is tied to british passport.

Any advice is really appreciated.

Sorry i forgot to make it clear in the question that currently they are in Dubai and they need to fly back to India....

Passport validity
To avoid possible problems at immigration, make sure your passport is valid for a minimum of 180 days at the time of entry into India.

For most countries there is a six month validity requirement for entry.
