will new visa application refusal have impact on old visa valid time?

I have a question about the Skilled visa application.
I am working at a University and my contract will be extended so I am going to apply for a new visa soon. My current visa valid time is until 14th April 2021.

In the meantime, a private company offered me a job and they are in the process of applying for COS (just received their sponsorship license). The company is trying to get priority service for COS. However, it needs to wait for HO's allocation for the priority service. If their COS is later than my university's COS, I will have to apply for the VISA sponsored by my university.

If so, My question is: After I renewed my visa sponsored by the university (2 years), but the visa application sponsored by the company was rejected, would it have an impact on my new visa sponsored by my university(such as reduce of valid time)?

I know this possibility is small, but I am sensitive to visa issues and trying to prepare for the worst scenario. Because I had two student visa application refusal record in 2016 due to misunderstanding. I got my student visa in 2019.
