Tier 2 dependent child visa extension

Hi,

I am a UK citizen now progressing from Tier 2 general category. My son who came in 2016 to UK on tier 2 dependent child visa, is now in his final year of his medicine studies and will be starting his two year foundation course in August this year. His current tier 2 dependent child visa expires in 2022 next year. In 2022 he will be in his second year of foundation programme.
Since this is a paid placement (student placement), can his current tier 2 dependent visa be extended? Will he be still considered as a dependent?

Where is the other parent and what is their immigration status?

Presumably your son is in the UK?

Thanks, Yes son is studying in UK and is now about to finish his medical degree. My husband came to UK later on spouse visa so has still not completed 5 years.

It’s a bit confusing.
Did your husband apply for entry clearance as a spouse after you were granted ILR?
How did your child get a Tier 2 dependant entry clearance without his father?
When will your husband complete his five years?
Can you give immigration histories of both husband and son?
