Early joining to employer on SW Visa

Post by ankit88gupta » Thu Mar 25, 2021 3:58 pm

Hi Team,

I had received my skilled worker visa in 10 Feb 2021 and with Cos Start date as 20 April 2021. Now I am planning to join new employer on 5 April. Does the employer has obligation to inform UKVI/ home office for early joining date?

Can you please tell the 5 years duration of ILR is counted from the date of joining of new employer as 5 April or the day BRP was issued in Feb 2021?

I am in UK on Tier 2 ICT since last year and the BRP was valid till 15 April 2021.

You cannot start, and the sponsor cannot employ you, earlier than the work start date in the CoS. They could have changed the start date before the Co was "used", i.e. before your visa was granted, but not any more.
