Driving licence 10 Points removed, British citizenship

Post by sunrise80 » Thu Apr 01, 2021 6:02 pm

Hello,
I have been rejected for British citizenship 2 years ago in January 2019 as I had been caught in an accident in April 2018 and had been given 10 points on my driving license by the UK court in April 2018.

Home office good character rules say I won't be eligible for citizenship until 3 years from the date of crime. (or date of court decision?). However, the 10 points on my driving license have been removed now.

my question is, Should I wait for 2 months more, to complete 3 years of conviction (the date court convicted me was June 2018). or am I eligible to apply for citizenship is in April 2021 or June 2021?

Details below.
0 current penalty points
Offence dates:
Offence date: 1 Apr 2018
Expiry date: 1 Apr 2021
Removal date: 1 Apr 2022
Offence details
DR40: In charge of a vehicle while alcohol level above limit
Penalty points: 10

For Naturalisation, NO criminal conviction is considered spent even if the driving penalty points are taken off by DVLA. You must still declare in your AN application.
Apply only 3 years after date of conviction i.e. the date court imposed the penalty.
Make sure you do not get any other penalties before you apply to be on the safe side.
