Exchange rate

Post by sonu@2507 » Fri Oct 03, 2008 10:56 am

Hi,

I am going to submit my application on october 2nd week. I am showing the previous earnings from 1st oct 2007 to 30 sep 2008 from my employer. Now my question is which day exchange rate I have to take ?

I had taken the exchange rate on October 1 ,2008 ? Is it okay or I have to take the day which I am applying the application ?

Please help

Regards,
Sonu.

I had quoted the exchange rate taken from their website (in the fee section) where 600 pounds gets converted to 51K Indian rupees for Visa fees. Also quoted the same in my cover letter, saying this is the source of my exchange rate. They obviously cannot refute their own website ... :)

SMART na ... :)

anyways...my application got rejected, so not so smart in the end ... :)

All The Best

Amit

based on the guidelines...

118. If, during the period for which we are considering
the applicant’s previous earnings, he/she has earned
money from outside the United Kingdom, he/she
can include these in the calculation to score points for
earnings. The applicant should provide details of the
overseas earnings, in the original currency in which
they were paid. The applicant should convert these
earnings into pounds sterling by using the closing spot
exchange rate on the OANDA website for the last day
of the period for which he/she has claimed earnings
in that currency.

Hi,

Thanks for the replay, i am little bit confused. My previous earnings are in the period of 1 oct, 2007 to 30 sep 2008. But my last month salary sep, 2008 had credited on 26th sep , 2008 in to my bank account. My question is I have to take the exchange rate on 26th sep, 2008 or 30 sep 2008.

Please advice me ?

Regards,
sonu.
