Could anyone help me with this, please.
I have a tourist visa and i'm planning to join my irish boyfriend in Dublin. I'm a non eu citizen. How can I extend my visa to stay longer? Do I have to register at the garda department? I would like to work later also..
Someone told me that I can enter the country on a tourist visa and then set up a company or go on a course? Is this possible?
Any advise will help..

okk, whoever told you that is wrong you can overstay or join any course. you need to come on either student visa or work permit. so, ask in the embassy in ur country

I'm not sure who told you that, but it's incorrect. Setting up a business takes time and planning. Then you have to get it approved, so unless you have the money to invest and a great business plan . . . good luck.

You can study full-time here. However, there really aren't any courses that start in February. You will still have to return home. You're best bet is to return home when your visa runs out and do some research from there. If you are serious about coming over, then you may want to look for the Autumn. It isn't easy to find a job here, or anywhere with the recession, and many places aren't willing to sponsor you for a work permit.

You do not want to overstay in Ireland, especially if you and your boyfriend aren't getting married. Even if that were the case, Ireland is not as forgiving for overstaying as some of the other EU states.
