2 questions re. Tier1

Post by gum.tree8002 » Tue Oct 28, 2008 12:12 pm

Hello.

I am on a student visa in the USA and was hoping to come to the UK to look for jobs and came across the Tier 1 (general) visa. I am planning to apply, but am not sure if I qualify as per the points calculator (no points on the salary part- I am a student). Is there another visa that I could apply for instead of Tier 1? Also, I have a brother who works in the US who qualifies for the Tier 1 visa- can I tag along as a dependent (in case he applies and gets a Tier 1 visa)?

Thank you.

1 - try sponsored employment aka work permit and soon to be Tier 2 or as student again Tier 5? see this one
2 - as dependent to your brother - NO. as the definition of family members are applied to spouse and children only.
