FLR-M cohabitation documents

Post by chris165 » Sun Nov 28, 2021 10:41 pm

Hi all,

I've got a bit of time to sort this out but I'm concerned I've failed to accumulate enough physical documents to cover the requirements. My wife's BRP expires in May so will be looking to do the application in April. and the relevant 2 year period will be May 20 to Apr 22.

Here are the only documents we have which fully meet the requirements:

Council tax (joint names) - Mar 21 and Mar 22
Water bill (joint names) - Nov 20, Jun 21 and Nov 21

We both have separate Nationwide current accounts which generate monthly statements covering the period but these have been set to paperless. This is sorted for me now for the financial evidence requirement, but older statements are online only.

My wife does have some correspondence from the NHS as she registered with a GP - however this is dated before the two year span. Similarly she have been studying English at a local college but only has . All other bills/ mortgage etc are in my name only.

I'm hoping I can get some help with the best way forward from here. Perhaps try and generate a new source of correspondence now (e.g. open joint bank account)? And how to address the gaps - possibly use ebanking statements with an accompanying letter and the NHS correspondence as even though it predates the 2 year period it hopefully provides a bit more assurance?

Many thanks for any advice.

Use the remaining time to get from other sources. When it comes to it, any type of correspondence you have can be used. It can be addressed to you both or individually.
So do check and see what you can get to plug the gaps.

Thanks for the quick reply - I've already found further NHS letters to each of us confirming Covid vaccination status so definitely making progress.

Online statements that resemble what you would normally get by post are accepted.

Was there an official government communication saying this that you can link me to? - it's just I've found other threads (albeit 3-4 years old) saying only original statements were acceptable. The online versions seems to be fairly similar but just miss a QR code.

I can not link you to such. Note that the application process is now online/electronic so what role will so called paper documents or original play? The definition of original document had changes ala environmental impact of getting paper products and the lockdown tremendously helped with the shift.
Sift through the forum, it is replete with testimonies on acceptance of electronic documents.
