Tier 4 visa expring in 20 days, coming to UK to apply for PSW

Post by seeweare » Sun Mar 13, 2022 4:13 pm

Hi,

One of my friends was in India for the past nine months and is travelling back to the UK. He is currently on a Tier 4 General Student visa which is expiring on 11th April 2022. He is planning to apply for PSW once he reaches the UK. However, will there be a problem for him entering UK as his current visa is expiring in 20 days? What are his options to apply for PSW if he is denied entry?

Thank you.
Regards,
Ramana CV

Not sure why you are so astonished and dramatic. It is perfectly normal and fine to do so. Due to the pandemic many students have been distance learning for months, even years.

He was away as his father expired due to Covid. He stayed a bit longer to ensure things are normal at his home.

As long as he was continuing his studies by distance learning while he was away, and so his university was continuing to sponsor him, he can come back while he still has a Student visa.

If the situation is anything other than that, for example he interrupted his studies, he needs to speak directly to the university about his options.
