Timeline for Fiance visa application

Post by jas1234uk » Tue Mar 29, 2022 11:17 am

Good morning all,

Hopefully a simple question. My partner (Brazilian) and I plan to marry later this year. My partner's current marriage will be ended in May 2022. My divorce should be completed (Decree Absolute) at some point in July or August. Let's say for instance that I receive decree absolute 30th July 2022.

When would my partner be able to apply for Fiance Visa? Is it better to wait until my decree absolute is confirmed? We are just wanting to be together ASAP hence the question.

Or is there a specific point that my partner could apply sooner and what would we need to look out for or provide to the UK Government when making the application?

thank you
Jason
