PBS extension for Tier 1 dependent

Post by VWS » Thu Mar 03, 2022 1:43 pm

Hi All

I am now a british citizen, however my wife came in UK as a Tier 1 PBS dependent.

I need to do another extension till she would be eligible for ILR towards the end of this year. I got my ILR using 5 year route of Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa.

Is there any online form or do I need to submit a paper application like I used last time while renewal.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

If the above is correct..... there is this question....

Tier 1 (Entrepreneur)

Do you have one of these Home Office reference numbers for Partner?
(Required)

Yes, I have their UAN

Yes, I have their Home Office reference number

Yes, I have their VAF number

Yes, I have their GWF number

Yes, I have their biometric residence permit (BRP) number
BRP number

No, I do not have any of these reference numbers for them

I have all the BRP number's (scanned versions), which one are they asking about?

Expiry date will be 3 years from grant under 319D(a).

Thanks... what I got from your point is that I will add in the expiry date for 3 years so IHS will be paid in full

Can you please help with the visa route... when I select Tier 1 entrepreneur ... what would I select for 2nd option... 2 years extension or what??

There is no option for british citizen...

Thanks in advance

The fact that your spouse has British citizenship now is irrelevant. You are getting an extension under Tier 1E rules by the virtue of them previously settling under the Tier 1E rules.

The expiry should be chosen in such a way so you end up paying the correct IHS fees i.e three years :!: :!:

Thanks for clarifying. Lastly please confirm if this is the correct form...

https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... nt-partner

If yes... why are they asking about a SOC code when I start an application.?

Appreciate your help as always.

Thanks

Biometrics & Document uploading

Post by VWS » Tue Apr 26, 2022 9:56 am

Hi Gurus

We have applied for a PBS dependent extension application as the main applicant is now a British Citizen.

The NHS fee came up with a total of £2184 when the visa ending date of main applicant(British Citizen) was added for 3 years in advance of dependant's visa expiry date. The fee should be £1872 - Will the amount of £312 be refunded? There was no option of amend the dates once the fee was calculated. if yes where do we have to send the email and when please?

We have secured the biometric appointment in one of the centres. When uploading the documents, is there any document which we have missed? my list includes the below:
1. Passport Main page (or do we upload the whole passport)?
2. Council Tax Bill.
3. Bank statements for both parties.
4. Water Bill.
5. Mortgage annual statement.
6. Cover Letter

Dependants passport is expiring in September this year. We have already applied for a renewal passport. If we get everything on time, we can take the latest passport with us but if we dont receive it till the appointment, can there be any problems for that. We can always send the passport if its received later.

Will highly appreciate your help.

Thanks

Any extra fees paid will be refunded later. Your documents look ok. There is no need to send in the new copy of the passport after the appointment

thanks for your response...

do I need to scan the whole passport or just the main page?

Also the council tax bills and water bill, they are both digital copies due to being paperless.

Is this okay or I need to ring them to send me paper copies??

TIA

PBS Dependent Visa Update

Post by VWS » Mon May 16, 2022 9:53 am

Hi Members and Gurus

Thanks for all your help for the visas.

I really appreciate the time and effort that moderators and gurus put in to help people with different queries.

We recently applied for PBS dependent visa application where main applicant is now a British Citizen.

with the Grace of ALLAH - we received a reply of successful application in 1 day.

it was like UKVI was waiting for us to complete the biometrics and they sent the email very next day at 10 am

We have also received the new BRP card today in the post.

The IHS charges were paid for 3 years but no idea how they calculated it to £2184.

I paid it but now they have sent the card back, the expiry date is 31/12/2024 (2 years and 7 months).

Will I be refunded automatically for IHS or do I need to apply for it somewhere?

Many Thanks

Current BRPs will be discontinued from 31/12/2024, hence the date. The length of actual leave may be longer

oh okay... I didnt knew that.

How and where will we find the exact expiry date then?

Also about IHS refund, it was deducted for more than 3 years anyway. do I need to apply somewhere or will this be refunded automatically?

Thanks

Your extension approval letter should have the length of the Visa grant.

I am not sure but it looks like you have been charged for 3.5 years. Which could potentially be half year for the period between previous expiry and date of new visa, followed by three year IHS for the extension

Thanks marcnath

yes the expiry date is mentioned in the approval letter which is for 3 years.

Am sure this cannot be the case as the current visa was expiring on 03/05/2022 and I submitted the application on 26/04/2022. The biotmetric appointment was booked on 11/05/2022 and approval date on BRP card is 12/05/2022 till 12/05/2025 (date from approval letter).

You can try writing to them.
But the previous IHS covered until 3/5. The extension covers from 12/5. So I would not be surprised if the half fees is to cover from 4/5 to 11/5. They have only two IHS fee rates - less than 6 months and 6 months plus.

Update...

I have received £312 back to my account as an IHS refund for those 6 months that were automatically included while making the payment.

I would have to say this was the most efficient and quickest visa application result from UKVI.

The whole process was very smooth and super easy.

All the best to everyone.

Thanks to moderators once again for the efforts :)
