Got Tier 1 visa stamped : Start date problem

Post by sureshep » Mon Dec 29, 2008 10:46 am

Hi All,

I have applied Tier 1 visa on Dec 05th 2008 and got all my documents back with visa stamped last week.

BHC has issued the visa with effect from 18th Dec 2008 to 18th Dec 2011. However, while filling up the application I did mentioned my travel date as 05 March 2009.

Last week, I have with drawn the maintainance amount from bank for some reasons on urgent basis.

Now, I am about to contact the BHC for change of effective start date in the visa. My question is, will they ask my maintainance account stmts again ?

Is there any chance that - BHC may verify the maintainance account this time again ? or will I need to put back the amount ?

Pls share your experiences. B'coz I need some more time to stay here in India since the market is not worth currently.

Awaiting for your earliest responses.

Suresh

getting a tier1 in itself is a big task.. congrats !

If its a real genuine case, u can ask abt changing the visa dates ..

in ur case , its just two months before ur travel date.. so i wud advise u to just it leave like that ..

there is a risk of cancellation of the visa if there is re-verification although i am not aware of any process to postpone the visa start date..

Pl send a well coined letter to BHC quoting ur actual request of entry date in the application. U r definately not expected to maintain funds now since u will have to buy pounds to 'maintain' urself in UK. 3 months are 3 months to maintain funds and not for eternity. If BHC expect applicants to maintain funds after issue of visa, then most of us would not travel to UK.

So dont worry... Ask for ur date and u will get it.

Thanx sri_sunny for the confirmation.

That's what I was assuming.....how can an applicant maintain the funds for a long term above.....2800.

Sometime applicant may maintain 1000 pounds or may be below so as to balance his financial needs.
