Important question about FLR

Post by popcola » Wed Mar 16, 2005 10:40 am

My unmarried partner got HSMP and we both got EC approval, and he' is already in UK. He claimed 10 points for my bacharel degree and I remained in my country for academic reasons. That´s the question: Can
I send my passport to him by post when he applies for the FLR, then he would send it back to me so I could go with the passport and the visa stamped?

Hi popcola,

In no case the passport should be sent out of the country by post. It is not legally approved as I heard some where people taking about it.

Popcola, How can you get or claim Further Leave to remain (FLR) in a country in which you have not entered. It is not logical as well. And to my wisdom this might be the case that HSMP team is not asking for passport for out of country applicants.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for your answer, technician!
Let me tell you about the situation, maybe you could suggest me something: I'm going to UK during my hollidays in june/july, but I'll wont be able to go back to UK until late feb, when my course finishes.
Our visa expires in January, and my partner will apply for FLR by that time...

Thanks a lot!

i think you really have two choices.
1. to actually be in the UK when he applies his FLR or
2. to reapply for EC once your partners FLR has been approved. the problem you might encounter now is proving that you are in a relationship akin to marriage. and since you are leaving in different countries it might be more difficult to be successful
