I am sorry but this will be quite dramatic. My eldest grandson has not been blessed with a responsible mother(my daughter). My grandson, a Filipino citizen, now 14 years, was orphaned by his father even before he born. So since he was born I provided for his needs and his mother's. My daughter went from one relationship to another and mothered three more sons. On many documented occasions, my grandson was physically abused by his mom and mom's partner, justifying their action that they were just trying to discipline my grandson. My mother who is now 81 years old can not help me any more, in bringing up my grandson while I am here. I used to visit them in the Philippines twice a year but after Covid, my husband was left with mobility issues restricting us travel for now.
I want to try to bring my grandson to the UK to live with us. I want to provide him a family he can rely on, consistently caring and guiding him. He so deserves a good family life and reach his full potential as wonderful adult.
I know this application wont be straight forward but can someone direct me to what FORM to fill-up to start my application to get him. I know it will entail so much to prove that I have sole responsibility over him and to prove the lingering danger of his mother abusing him again and again.
Will it be easier and faster if I try the path of a student visa for my grandson? Will he be able to stay with me and become a permanent resident eventually?
I am a naturalised British Citizen and I have a full-time job.
Thank you for reading this and any advice is highly appreciated.
