I submitted a naturalisation application three months and half ago (biometrics same day of application submission), and still haven't heard back from home office since then.
In my application, I requested to exercise discretion of excess absence as it was related to work purposes, which I got supporting letters for from HR of the university I used to work for. Unfortunately, just learned that this HR member, who wrote me these letters and signed them out including their email address, passed away, and their email address is eliminated from the university domain. Was wondering if Home Office will contact this email address to verify the letters? And what would they do in this case? Is it something that would delay concluding my application? Should I email HO to tell them that the person who wrote the letters passed away?
Please note that these letters were also used to obtain ILR more than a year ago.

You have to wait 6 months. That's the standard processing time. You wouldn't get any response before that. If the HO needs clarity on anything before that, you would be contacted. Not the other way round.
