Applying for a British Passport (referees)

Post by Tivenin-susan » Tue Jan 09, 2024 9:53 pm

Hi everyone

My husband attended the citizenship ceremony today and has received his certificate of British Citizenship.

Now we are confused regarding the referees. when he started the application for the British Passport, they asked him to fill the referee part so he started with the first referee and then, the next step was uploading the documents ...

My question is regarding the second referee ! please correct me if i am wrong!
There should be two referees when applying for the British passport for the first time?

If yes, could you please tell me why they didn't ask for the second referee ?

Thank You in advance

Passport is different, only one person required to confirm identity.

And you don’t upload documents you send them to HMPO.

Totally different from naturalisation.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.

Only one referee needed, but must be British and a professional.
All advice comes from personal research and experience and should not be regarded as professional opinion.
