Hi everyone,
I would appreciate some advice regarding my husband's immigration status suitable for naturalisation application.
My husband has completed 5 years in the UK as a Skilled Worker dependant and is now eligible to apply for ILR. I currently hold ILR and have already applied for naturalisation.
Would it be better for him to apply for ILR now, or should he wait until I become a British citizen?
If he applies for ILR now and I become a British citizen before he applies for naturalisation, would he be eligible to apply for naturalisation immediately after receiving ILR as the spouse of a British citizen, or would he still need to wait 12 months after being granted ILR?
Alternatively, if he waits and applies for ILR only after I become a British citizen, would that make any difference to when he can apply for naturalisation?
Has anyone been in a similar situation or knows how the Home Office applies the rules in this scenario?
Thank you in advance for your help.
