student to student dependant

Hi everyone

My spouse is holding a student visa and doing a masters degree. i've
been in the UK more than a year as a student. We decided to switch my
student visa to student dependant . My spouse' s visa is originally 12 months but his visa will expire in less than 3 months. However , he has to extend his visa because his degree will last in October 2009.

My question is , if my application is approved ( applied 2 months ago ) i'm wondering whether i'll be granted work permit since i already have part - time at the moment . Does it matter, in terms of determining the work permit as his remaining period is less than 3 months or does HO look for his remaining visa to be 12 months or more ?
