Maintenance fund queries and other general doubts - URGENT

Post by destiniation_london » Wed Mar 18, 2009 10:58 am

All,

I just identified some major problem in my application which will prevent me from applying till 23rd of March.

Mistakenly on 17th december 2008, I withdrew amount from ATM due to which the balance in my account went just below 800£ (796.05£ to be precise). However, I realised it on 23rd December about the balance and as I had my salary credited on 23rd, I had my balance again above 800£. So, if we go by the policy guidelines, which says it should never be below 800 at any time in the last 3 months, I cannot apply till 23rd March.

My question here would be :

As my bank account statement date runs from 25th of each month. So, if I have to apply on 23rd or 24th, I would need to ask HSBC to provide bank statement on their company letter head from the last statement date till the application date (23/24th March).

Do you think it would be a problem to provide bank letter for just one month and bank statement for rest of the months? Do they take 3 months from the date of application or they would look at the 3 bank statements? (apologies, if this sounds very dumb)

Please help me in clearing this out..... i really need to apply before the April changes come into force.

Also, i am applying from In-country, do somebody know if we can post the application on saturday? Also, would Saturday be counted as the application date or the following Monday?

And, as the point based calculator does not accept the decimals, therefore we need to round it to nearest value. So, should we put the exact amount with decimals in application form or the amount rounded to nearest number.

Also, if someone can point me to the discussion which mentions about the way we should arrange our application form for the convenience of case worker (like should we put it in file, put markers on evidences, etc.). I would really really appreciate that.

Thanks a lot and looking forward to your replies....

Thanks a lot guys.

Hi ,

I think it is okay to give 2 months bank statements + 1 month statement printout on letterhead. As long as it covers the whole 3 months from the date of application, it should be fine.

I think application date will be from Monday. From the day they receive it. I might be wrong. Seniors pls correct.

I had the same issue with the online printout. So, I selected the band to avoid the confusion. You may do the same instead of giving a wrong figure.

You can search the forum as anybody else should do to point you the discussion. I think you can check the sticky posts.

Cheers
Gita.
