HSBC Branc

Post by markotsg » Sun Apr 05, 2009 11:01 am

Hello I heard many people had issues with HSBC to get the letter and stamped statements (or printed)

are you able to recommend a branch wher you had no problems getting required documents?

Many thanks

Hi Marko...

I tried at a couple of HSBC branches for letter unsuccessfully but i was told and finally proved that if we have proper Bank statements as per the guidance covering the 3months period

Then it is time waste trying to get the letter from the bank. if u have any problems in ur bank statement that u shd wait for somebody to come up with that branch with BIG heart to ask letter from

Bottom line: if u have proper bank statement as per guidelines just dont worry abt letter and move ahead

It depends on the type of account you have with them..
if you online savings account i am sure its pain in the neck..
but if you have checking account with a specific branch then you go to that branch and request them to stamp your online account statements as well..

there is a big problem with HSBC with stamping issue. most banks cannot do a letter as per rules but HSBC got different rules in different banks. if someone from them knows u then its ok they gonna stamp it otherwise NOT. And most of the ppl got rejected because of this attitude from HSBC.

I was banking with HSBC but i transferred me account to abbey and to be really very honest they were a great help for me in my process. i needed the last 10 days statement from bank as had to show the last salary stuff they not only give statement on their proper letter head plus they stamped it and signed the authorization aswell.

so be on the safe side bank with company which consider u as a customer not as an idiot.

if all the students / immigrants stop banking with HSBC i guess it gonna need a huge bailout next year...

If you have Internet access to your bank:

1. Raise a request(send an email to HSBC ) from within the web portal for this letter. Mentioned all the details you needs in the letter e.g. a/c no, period and to some extent content of the letter too. HSBC can charge you for this request but they do provide it easily.

2. Alternatively, write an application on paper and include the printed template of the letter you need from HSBC and walkin to the branch and submit it. Make is clear that it is for Visa and very urgent,. Somebody from HSBC will contact you for the same and you can talk them thru the requirements of the letter.

I did the same and got the letter from HSBC. I asked them to provide one letter for two different account i.e. Current and Online Saver and mentioned in letter that combined sum has never reach below the reqd amount in past three months. Mke sure you apply well in advance as letter may take some time to reach you.

3. Walkin into the different branch and ge statement of Online Saver account. I live in Crodyon and they were happy to put stamp on it for me. May be because the branch is right in front of Home Office building :D

Hope this will help..
