A little something about the approval letter!

Post by rap_rev » Sun Apr 24, 2005 11:45 am

As I mentioned in my previous post, my 3 frds got approved last month, there is something on their approval letter i though might worth mentioning.

All of them are in country applicants and the approval letters they received from home office are identical. It doesnt mention if the applicant is in country or out of country and there are two options on the letter, saying if you are applying FLR(IED), BLAH BLAH BLAH and if you are applying for EC,BLAH BLAH. I guess now there is no difference between the in country or out of country approval letter now.

One more thing, one of my friends was forced to go back to home country to apply for EC because her current status in the UK is dependant. She was told by VO to apply use the approval letter she got as an in country applicant.

Anyway, i will let you guys know the outcome of her EC application. It's still too soon to jump to conclusions!

Thank you for posting this info. It makes my blood boil. My husband has an approval -- he applied in April 2004 and didn't get approval until Nov. By then, they'd changed the FLR rules, making him inelgible for FLR, but they made no provision for those stuck in the HSMP queue who had applied long before the rule changes were announced or went into effect. Then, they refused to change his letter over, not letting him use it for EC. Yet, here they change the policy once again. They only seem to grandfather the rules that hurt people and not grandfather anything that is helpful.

He reapplied as out-of-country the same time as you and your friends, and like you, he was told that it would be 1-2 months wait, even though he is sitting in the system right now with an approval good through May. It is very, very frustrating!

ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
