Post by Atul Jain » Fri May 08, 2009 6:11 pm

I have Tier 1 General visa issued on 18th Feb'09. I wish to know about the job market in UK during recession. I have 7 years of experience in Infrastructure projects. So anyone have any link to get the job there please advise me.
thanks

Well based on the Infra-companies that we cover, the market is very bad at the moment. The PFI market has dried up and House builders are in tears. Today only 3i (a huge private equity group with significant exposure to infra assets) and taylor wimpy made a cash call. No new Road concessions seen in recent past; some hope for nuclear power and renewable energy though.

Ppl say there are good times ahead due to olympic and cross rail etc. but the contracts have already been awarded and there is huge over capacity. We have increased margins to eye watering levels. Scan the market carefully and then make a move.
regards,
