Tier 1 general migrant Query

Post by reply2sabby » Thu Jun 04, 2009 12:30 am

I wish to apply for Tier 1 General Migrant Visa. I am an Indian national. I have few queries, I would appreciate if you could answer them:

1. I was in USA for last 18 months on an onsite assignment by my employer and now back in India. Can I apply for Tier 1 General Migrant Visa from India and claim my last 12 months's US salary and three months balance in my US bank account as maintenance fund requirement?

2. Point Based Calculator gives 10 point for my Masters degree and allows me to select it as an English language requirement. Does that mean my Masters degree was taught in English language and I do not need to provide any such supporting document from my University?

"I checked my Bachelors degree.. PBS does shows that my degree exists in the database but it does not gives 10 points and does not allow me to select this degree as English language requirement" So I am still wondering if I can use my Masters degree with no supporting document from university?"

You have to be much clearer here.. bachelor degree+university should be found just not the degree...

if you can put ur degree+university which awarded it plus years so that someone check and confirm you.. Ok

Hi, Let me try this way

1. I have done Bachelor in Computer application(B.C.A) from Punjabi University, Patiala, India in year 2001 . I do not have any certificate from university that states that the B.C.A. was taught in English.

2. I have done Masters in Computer application(M.C.A) from Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, India in year 2004. I do not have any certificate from university that states that the M.C.A. degree was taught in English.

Now, PBS recognises both the above degrees and unversities for my English language requirement. However it gives 10 marks only for MCA and there is radio button enabled for MCA which I can select for the english laguage requirement. So my question is, does that mean, I do not need to attach any supporting document from university that the MCA degree was taught in English language?

Yes. You don't need to submit certificate separately if your university is listed in PBS calculator except your University Degrees(BCA or MCA).
