ILR after 5 years - few difficult questions

Post by barua » Thu Jun 04, 2009 12:53 am

Hi There,
I have been on work permit and am nearing 5 years very soon.
1) In the last 5 years I have been outside UK for 7 months(during year 3).
2) I might not be able to get a letter stating my continued services are required for the employer fears i might leave them after ILR. Even if i get it ; it might be addressed to someone else(adddressed to the entity i mention(pretex) to them requires this letter).
Will I be ok on point 1? ok on point 2?
3) My spouse is on HSMP(2 + 3 yrs one) valid from Oct 2007 to Oct 2009 and my infant baby is on my wife's HSMP dependant visa.
Given this should she apply along with me for ILR?(though still on HSMP visa) OR should she get her extension for 3 years and after that apply for her ILR after those 3 years? OR once I get the ILR can she switch over back to ILR dependant and finish 2 years on that(if it is required so) and then apply for ILR?
I'm bit bugged with all these questions and your help on this will be highly appreciated and will help me in a great way.
thanks,
M Barua
