Certiifcation of documents for naturalisation

Post by chakku71 » Tue Jul 14, 2009 6:26 am

Hi, three queries

The UKBA web site says that for individual applications for naturalisation, we need to either submit the original or 'certified copies'.
1.Who can we get to certify the copies?

I am assuming that we can submit certified copies of passports and birth certificates.

UKBA also says no travel plans for atleast 3 months after submission.

3. If we submit the original for naturalisation, can we ask for them back after 3 months?
4. If we request them back, would that mean, a withdrawal of application?

Thank You
BB

Why not just use NCS (Nationality Checking Service)? As you get to keep your original documents.

I am exploring other options before I commit one way or the other.

Just submit original documents and be patient for about 3 - 4 months for your application to be processed. That is the easiest way.

Solicitors can certify documents for you, but its still better to send originals if you dont want any hassle

Although you pay for the service using the NCS, it's much better as they will check and go over your docs and make the photocopies and you keep the originals...
