IMPORTANT – I have Job Offer a job offer and 105 points calc

Post by cbobarna » Fri Jun 03, 2005 1:30 pm

Hello everybody!!
I have the following scenario.
According with my calculation I can claim 105 points:
15p – educational background
35p – work experience
25p – past earnings
15p - achievement in your chosen field
10p - partner’s achievement
5p – age

I also have a job interview that can become a real job in August. It is possible somehow to send the papers to HSMP and to receive the acceptance (I hope) until July?
It is possible to speed up the process due to the fact that I must go to a job interview?

Thank you in advance for your answers!!

Just fire off your application ASAP. Also include details of your pending job interview.

BTW, how are you claiming significant achievement points?

Hi Chess,
Thank you for your quick reply.
I can claim but I don’t know if they will agree.
I work in Romania for an American company and I receive 3 months ago an industry award. 4 years ago when I was in last university year I received first prize to a academic conference.

It is quite difficult to recieve 'significant achievement' points. So if you get the minimum 65 points required - dont bother with significant achievemnt..

you only need 65 points!!!

I’m afraid that if I will lose this opportunity with the job interview it will difficult for me to prove my “ability to continue to work in a chosen field in the UK”.
How important is this section for HSMP Team?
They will reject my application even if I have more than 65 points?
What do you recommend to do if I will not find any other job interview?

You can have all the points in the world, however, if you do not satisfy the other requirements ie. ability to work in your field, ability to support yourself and your dependents without recourse to public funds, etc. etc. Your application will be rejected. I think that is the gist of the post.

See comments above. I recommend that you provide copies of your job applications and give details of your job hunting efforts. It may also be worthwhile obtaining a letter from any recruitment agents that you are using to say that you have a good chance of obtaining employment in your chosen field when in the UK. Remember, you do not necessarily need a job or a job interview to satisfy the requirements for the HSMP.
