uk fiance visa...help!!

Post by lillico » Tue Jul 28, 2009 7:07 pm

Hi all, new to the forum so bear with me.

basically im a uk citizen engaged to a us citizen. wedding is all booked for the 15th november in the usa.

we plan to come back here where i have a good full time job, own a house etc...(hopefully no problems there)she has a job offer already.

the problem i have is if i get a fiance visa i have to marry in uk, not usa although a marriage certificate is legally recognised?!! Is this right?

if i get married in usa and then apply for spouse visa i have 2 weeks before our booked flights back to the uk leave. enough time?

dont really want to be seperated because i hear it can be 12 weeks!! crazy!!!

some one told me to just apply for fiance, marry in usa come back and remarry in a registry office? job done, assume i could get away with this?
not like im marrying two different woman!!

any help would be much appreciated.

reagrds lillico.

Don't, in order to get married in the UK you need to certify that you are unmarried, and the form actually mentions the Perjury Act. Perjury is a veryserious offence.

Two weeks is not enough time. Book your flight back, and another ticket for your wife when her visa is safely in her passport.

Indeed it can take that long, but if you use an expediter than it usually takes about 2 to 3 weeks.

I am sending PM to you.
