Tier 1 Dependent - Maint Fund Requirement

Post by jigpatel » Mon Aug 24, 2009 1:38 am

Dear Forum Members,

I got a question about Maint fund requirement of Tier 1 Dependent. I am in UK for last two month on Tier 1 visa. How much fund I need show for my 1 dependent who is applying from outside UK?

Is it 1600 for dep + 800 for main applicant
OR
1600 for dep + 2800 for main applicant

For my application (main applicant), as I applied from outside UK I showed £2800 amount for 3 months.

Thank you,
Jigs.

1600 for dep + 2800 for main applicant

although.. not sure.. whether you must show the 2800 ... I think as posted in some previous messages here.. you can do away with not showing your 2800 ... but, if you can show 1600+2800(main applicant's) for maintenance for your dependant .. then that's the safest !!!

Query - If the main application is now in UK (as in the above case), then does he not have to show £800 for himself/herself rather than £2800? Or is it, £800 if you extended leave from within UK and £2800 if you have just arrived to UK?

Yes, I have same doubt - if main applicant is within UK (less than 12 months under tier 1) it might be £800 for main applicant and while main applicant is new to UK (and less than 12 months under tier 1) it might be £2800

If the main applicant is in UK he needs to show £800 in maintenance funds otherwise £2800
