UK Tier 1 - what degrees accepted?

Post by Roz McClure » Wed Aug 26, 2009 10:42 am

I'm investigating getting an MA or MBA to qualify for the Tier 1 program. However, the university I'm looking at (California Coast University) isn't on the drop-down list on the UKBA points system. Does that mean it won't qualify? It is an accredited university, but it only became so recently (2005).

Thanks!

UNiversity needs to be listed in PBS calculator in order to qualify.

If NARIC compares it equivalent to UK Masters, then there is no problem, It's doesn't need to be present in calculator.

But, while application, you need to get such letter from NARIC, to support.

Thanks! Although that seems to be conflicting information. Does anyone know what the exact regulations are, or where I could look them up?

Also, does anyone know whether NARIC does speculative comparisons, or if there's a database other than the one on this board? I Googled "California Coast NARIC", but all I came up with was someone asking a question with no answer.

NARIC is a private company that does this comparison. You need to pay a fee to them.

If you see in to the guidance, Either education must present in points calculator or NARIC should compare it with UK masters.
