Premium Tier 1 Application Delayed - Need to travel

I paid an agent to go to Croydon for me to apply for the same day service Tier 1. That afternoon, they told me that my application would be delayed because they need to make some enquiries. They did not ask for any further documents.

Now I applied as sole director of a Limited company. My clients are all over the EU and I travel 80% of the time. If I do not have my passport, since they kept it, then I can not earn money...and worse if I do not travel by the end of the month I will lose my clients and have NO income...and I do not qualify for state help.

What do the Home Office consider emergencies besides a sick relative? Is losing ones JOB a good reason? Why can I find this information online.
