Hello members..Having enjoyed the pleasure of reading all the vast amount information on here so think it is time I give my own forthcoming problem an airing on here and see how it goes...
Right this one is somewhat unusual so I will try and word it as diplomatically as possible as will soon become apparent....I am a British born male and have a wonderful Moroccan born fiancee who lives in that country and works for a European embassy...She is Muslim by birth but thankfully both her and her family are extremely liberal minded and are quite happy for her to marry me.....BUT.......it is impossible to for a Muslim woman to marry a non-Muslim man in that country unless he converts with all the documentation required which is then filed over there....Naturally I am not really willing to start a marriage on a lie ((even if it was just a conversion to keep said authorities satisfied))..Thankfully her parents have given her permission to marry me in the U.K. ((also because it will let her father off the hook so to speak with regards to his religious responsibilities over there!!))
Okay here is the problem...Like I previously mentioned she works for a european consulate and actually deals with the visa side of things with people looking to visit the country of the embassy she works for....I am almost certain that If I apply for a U.K. marriage VISIT VISA the Entry clearance officer over there will refuse it quite simply because she still lives with her family ie no child ties etc ((brothers/sisters are not generally taken into consideration...She doesn't own any property out there and here financial savings only amount to around £1500 equivalent...Hence ties are not really strong enough she feels based on the visa applications she has to deal with ((((sorry don't want to name the embassy she works for just yet)))
Yes I know that I could apply for a fiancee visa for her to come here and get married now but not return, but it is a professional job that she has and still has well over 1 year left on her work contract..(((also that reference is going to be so important latter on so best not to pee off her employer)))
Also I do have a teenage daughter from a previous marriage whom I don't really expect would want to go out to Morocco to see her Dad convert to Islam just for marriage...((not exactly the best impression for girl of teenage years to see her DAD lying infront of a couple of Imans'))
Would the british E.C.O be able to see that this a genuine reason for marrying in the U.K and then her going back to Morocco after a period of 3 weeks...I guess that this visa is only normally used for people intending to book a '""grand venue"" rather than just the local registry office....
Yes I know it is me being abit selfish but I really don't want to convert to Islam on false pretenses......And yes having a christian/muslim couple can work...my parents haven't killed each other yet after 40 years!! So thankfully there is some hope...
Thank you in anticipation....
