Got my HSMP - Am I allowed to travel immediately?

Post by sohaibsyeed » Tue Sep 15, 2009 11:46 pm

Hey Everyone,

I had a query to ask all of you.

I just received my HSMP today. I applied from within the UK.

I was wondering if I am allowed to travel immediately and come back after a month or so?

The reason I am asking is this - a friend of mine went for the Tier 1 General application which happens at the counter in Sheffield. Over there they asked him if he is travelling within the next 28 days. He said "If this is a criteria, then I will NOT travel", then the person at the counter marked him across the question "travelling within the next 28 days" as 'No'.

So I wanted to know if this will lead to any problem on my arrival back to the UK since I will be leaving within 28 days of receiving the Work Permit?

Hope someone can help asap. I intend to leave on Thursday.

Thanks.

You have got a valid visa to enter and live in UK. I don't think any reason why you cannot travel. Take example for personal reason. What if things have changed now from your visa stamping(when you were asked the question about leaving).

Chetan,

I dint quite get your point about

"when you were asked the question about leaving"

When I filled the application form from UK, I dont remember filling any such form.

Can you please elaborate this?

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Since you weren't asked this question you don't have to worry about it.

Don't worry at all, go home, enjoy your holiday and return back. The day you fly back they will not ask any more questions than they usually ask you.
