Father's Visa to remain in the UK

Hello All,

I wanted to check if my Dad can get the visa to remain in the UK?

Background

Father's age: 72 years & Indian citizen
I am the son (Indian citizen) and have a Tier1 working visa till May 2012 with a dependant visa holder as my wife. I am working for a UK based company
My mother is a UK citizen and is 65 years age (not working and claim pension benefit for herself)
My sister is a UK citizen and married and holding the British passport out of 8 years of stay in the UK

My father currently holds 10 years vistors visa. However I wanted to check :
1) Can he apply Tier1 dependant visa on me?
2) Can he apply as dependant on my mom? (she is not working)
3) Can he apply as dependant on my sister (she is not working)

Please advise under what visa or law can he apply to remain in UK so that incase of any illness he can be entitled to medical treatment as all the family is based now in UK

I'm afraid I don't really see how he could qualify as a dependant of any of you.

Hello,

My Father is dependant on me for the maintenance and there is no one to take care of him in india.

Is there no law under which I can bring him here so that he can live with the family and in case of any illness can get him treated under NHS.

You need ILR to sponsor a parent and even that's a toughie. How come he can't apply as ur mum's husband?

Mom is a UK citizen claiming pension credit. Can my dad apply as her dependant?

If so what visa or law he can apply for the same? What is ILR?

Are there any pre-requisites of my mom's financial condition on basis of which an application has to be done ?

Well yeah she has to prove no burden on public fund. How come they never applied together?

If u don't know what ILR suggest u google or search here, basic stuff sorry and we do expect posters to at least have made some effort.

Sorry to bother you with those trivial questions. I have done the google search and thanks for the previous replies.

They did not apply together because of the lack of knowledge or information. My mom was holding British overseas passport and on the basis of the information available then, she just applied for herself.

If I sponsor him and he is going to stay with me at my residence, would it suffice as no burden of public funds?

Is there anything I need to prove in addition to this?

In 'Immigration Directorates Instructions' Chapter 8, Section 8, Annex V for dependant relatives, it says that the applicant has to prove that he is dependant on relative settled in UK for money.

In that case, do i need to show the remittances to india from my bank account? If that is the case, what is the frequency and process?
