Student Visa to Prospective Student back to Student

Post by christin » Tue Nov 17, 2009 7:35 am

I am currently finished my MA, and my original student visa runs out at the end of January 2010.

I am looking into doing my PhD here, and I need time to submit my proposal, and research the institutions in London. As I am applying for the 2010 school year, can I apply for a prospective student visa from the time of my current visa's expiry and then back to the student visa once I have been accepted?

Would I be better off just applying for the standard work visa, the problem is, I will spend the majority of my time doing research.

What would one recommend in this situation?

Thanks.
