Applying OCI application in personal

Hi,

Has anyone gone to London and applied OCI application in person,
do they give the acknowledgement number on the same day we apply if we go in person.

Does the applicant herself/himself need to be present there or any other person can apply on applicant's behalf.

Please tell me what is the procedure. do we need to take token.

I would appreciate quick response if anybody knows the answer as I am planning to go on Monday
