Got my Tier 1 Visa - My Success Story.

Dear friends,

Although late, it's time I gave back to this wonderful forum.

Just when I was contemplating going to an agency (who were charging INR 50K ) I discovered this forum which gave me the wealth of information and the confidence to apply by myself.

Which is what I did and got my visa !

So here's my details,

Applied: 26 March 2009.
Received: 29 April 2009.

Quoted below is my covering letter,

Dear Sir / Madam,

My name is <Learning Curve>. I am applying for the Tier 1 (General) Migrant work visa to live and work in the United Kingdom.

I am claiming 90 points for the attributes section and 10 points each for the english and maintenance sections, the details of which are as mentioned below,

Attributes: 90 points
 Age: 10 points.
Supporting Documents:
1. Passport.

 Qualifications: 35 points.
Supporting Documents:
1. Original Degree Certificate.

 Earning: 45 points.
Supporting Documents:
1. 12 months payslip
2. 12 months bank statement.

English Language: 10 points
Supporting Documents:
1. Original Degree Certificate.

Maintenance: 10 points
Supporting Documents:
1. 12 months bank statement out of which the latest 3 months have 2800 pounds equivalent in INR.

Additional information:
My payslips from March to December will be printed in the letter head of <XYZ company> and the payslip's of January and February will be printed <ABC company>. This is because <ABC> aquired <XYZ> and I became an official <ABC> employee starting 1st January. I am submitting along with, my original offer letter from <ABC> as evidence.

I religiously read the policy guidelines document atleast 4 times and read the postings on this forum before I prepared my application packet.

Although some of the rules have changed, I suggest all new applicants read the policy guideline document thoroughly and read through the archives here and you are sure to get your visa too.

A big thanks to all the guys who are doing a wonderful job by helping out and sharing their experiences here. It really really helped me !!
