what to do next if ECO withdraws appeal?

hi guys

i need some advice, my friend who submitted his wifes application sometime last year for a settlement visa and its got rejected over a little thing but the ECO did not check the papers properly. he then told my friends wife to appeal in which she rightly did but when the AIT wrote to the ECO he withdrew the appeal. does that mean its a error on his side and the visa should have been allowed?
but he has been waiting for over 8 - 10 months for a call letter but nothing has arrived. emailed the BHC no outcome.
who does he speak to or email to. could some advise and all this being in pakistan.

hi it basically means that the ECO most likely will grant the visa. However i know it can still take a few months from when the appeal is withdrawn.

just have to be paitent

Basically nothing other than sit tight till you get a call letter asking you to bring your documents/passport in for the visa to be stamped in it.

Your friend needs to contact his MP immediately as it is not normal to wait 8-10 months for a call letter.
