Need a review ..please

Post by destiniation_london » Thu Jul 01, 2010 2:08 pm

I am currently in UK on tier 1 & urgently need to apply for a dependent visa for my wife from India.

Have a query regarding maintenance fund -

I've been in uk nearly for last 4 years, just want to know how much of maintenance fund do I need to show for my wife... is it 533 or 1600£?

Also, do I need to show additional 800£ on top of above?

Also, how old can the bank statements could be, I read somewhere rule about bank statements should not be older than 30 days from the date of submission of application. Can somebody please confirm this rule for dependent visa from India

Would it be a problem if I show bank statements from 2 accounts?

Also, am submitting the following documents for her dependent visa, please verify

Wife's Passport
Wife's Visa photograph
Marriage certificate
My passport (front + last + tier-1 stamped page)
bank statements
payslips
rental agreement
council tax
Original Tier-1 grant letter
Wife's bank statements

Also, please can somebody provide with a covering letter format for wife's dependant visa frm India

I initially applied tourist visa for wife and it rejected, do I need to mention that in the covering letter.

Would really appreciate your answers and replies.

Thanks,

Hi There.

You just need to show 533 as you are in UK more than 12 months.
its true that statement should not be less than 30 days.
let the seniors look at your question and add their final comments.

Can you please tell if its ok to shows balance from 2 different accounts combined together for maintenance funds.

Both the accounts are with HSBC and under my name

Its just a problem for a single day when the balance had gone down from 1333£ (800 + 533) by 50£...
please can someone reply urgently as I need to apply urgently.

Thanks

Yes it's ok to provide a combination of accounts.
btw maintenance you have to show would be £800+533

Please can somebody check if statement is clear in covering letter

---start-----

4. Maintenance Funds evidence

As a main applicant, my husband is maintaining required maintenance funds for me for the claim period of last three months – 1st April 2010 to 1st July 2010. The money has been maintained into my husband’s salary account (account number XXXXX) in HSBC, UK.

As per point 41 & 88 of PBS (Dependant) policy guidance notes available at
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... olicy1.pdf, my husband needs to show a minimum fund of £533 available all time during the three month period as he’s been living in UK for more than 12 months (living since September, 2006).

Documents Provided:
• Original HSBC bank statements of my husband’s salary account XXXX covering the claim period (1st April 2010 to 1st July 2010), showing funds in excess of £533 available at all times during the claim period.
• Last 15 months pay slips as proof of employment
• Sponsorship letter from my husband

I trust the above documents ensure I will be able to live and maintain myself in UK without any recourse to public funds. However, I am also providing following additional documents for maintenance funds criteria. Request you to please refer to them in conjunction with above main documents, in case of any doubt.

Additional Documents Provided:
a) Last 3 month bank statements from my husband’s another account ‘Online Bonus Saver’ (XXXX) with HSBC, UK. As this is comparatively high interest yielding account, my husband regularly transfers money into/from this account from/into his salary account (XXXX).

b) Bank statements from my husband’s another account ‘Cash ISA’ (XXXX) held with HSBC, UK.

----end---------

would really appreciate your help and guidance.
