Documents for visa, please give me advice if you can

Post by juraj » Sun Jul 11, 2010 2:04 pm

Hello there. I would like to ask you whether our marriage certificate which was registered in Slovakia as I am a Slovak national and my wife is Iranian national. I have lived in the UK for over 5 years now and my wife is currently in Slovakia. We will need a translation of our marriage certificate. However do we need it certified by a ministry of foreign affairs of Slovakia or court or will translation by a certified translator do please?
Thank you

Can you say why you need the translation? For what purpose? If for example when applying for Naturalisation as British, a transaction that has a "Certified Translation" on it from a translator, that will be sufficient for the purpose. But do supply both the Slovak original and also the translation into English, so giving them a chance to check the translation if they wish.

Ok thank you so much for your answer. That is what I did-I provided certified copy of original in Slovak to the translator and it was translated and certified again.
