UPV on Friday we send docs

Post by ciao77 » Wed Jul 28, 2010 10:38 pm

Dear All,

After 26 months of collecting every single paper, reading a lot of this forum we are finally there... on Friday we send the documents for UPV.
This is the situation and what we have:

Applicant: student from outside EU, visa valid until April 2011
Me: British citizen

Two big black folders with around 50 documents each (over 100 in total), spread over 2 years showing that we live in the same address, from different fonts (banks, insurances, GP, NHS, credit cards etc);

1 folder with proof of studies of my partner for the last three years with a final letter dated late June 2010 stating that she attend regularly for the last year;

1 folder with letters from my employer dated July 2010 confirming salary, last 2 years payslips and some simple printouts from Land Registry showing that I own the house;

1 folder with a photocopy of the birth certificate and passport of our son (EU citizen), some family pictures and some printouts of trips to our countries.

1 final folder with passports, ID, Certificate of Residence and Forms.

Here are the things that bother me a bit:

Overall we have only 3 electricity bills and 1 contract of an ISA account (not used) in joint names. Also all the NHS correspondence addressed to my partner has a spelling mistake in the surname (M instead on N). It is like over 15 docs so I hope that they will apply common sense and consider it valid.

I claim Child benefit and working tax credits (here the claim is jointly even if my partner is not working)... they are both paid into my account (sponsor). I am a bit worried about this bcs in Internet are written different things, I honestly hope this is not going to become a problem considering that from day 1 I came in UK with a good job and a decent salary, paid 40% of salary in taxes for the last 7 years... and it's only 18 months (from the birth of our son) that I am getting something... if it is a problem can I pay them back and be fine?

Then I would like to know if somebody has a sort of template for a covering letter... what should I write?

any suggestions, things missing, please let us know...

thanks a lot,

ciao77
