Time after CoS is withdrawn

Hi,

I am currently on a Tier-2 General.
I got a job offer from different employer and they are ready to file my work permit, I will be receiving the CoS from them in a day or two.
But the circumstances are like, I need to inform my current employer now.
So if I inform the employer and they withdraw my current CoS then how many days home office allow me to stay here before I apply for new application?
Please help.
