Documents to show evidence of work experience

Hello,

I am fairly new to this forum, so, please excuse me if I am posting a query that has already been tackled before.

The HSMP document Annex C states that I have to submit employer reference that states information including start/end dates and positions held, job title as well as job responsibilities. I have some questions about these -

1. Is a "reference letter" the only acceptable form of proof that I worked for the company?
2. Do I have to submit such a letter from every employer I worked for?

I have worked for about 5 different employers in the US, in the past 9 years and atleast 3 of the companies have shut down since I left. I have no way of getting a reference letter from these companies.

3. Can I submit wage earnings forms or work permit application information as proof that I was employed with the company?
4. Is there any other piece of evidence that I can submit?

Hi,

I guess it is not required to send reference letter from all your previous employers, but it is wise to say that reference letters have a good weight on the overall process. There are many types of evidence you can provide to support your claim. Payment Slips, employer contract, income tax, reference letters, and even your work permit might help... The more evidence you have to prove your claim the better your chances get.

Is it possible to locate your former superiors? If so, maybe you could try mentioning on your cover letter that a few companies you worked for are not on business anymore, but you managed to acquire reference letters from those former superiors and their current contact info and send along with your payment slips and employer contract (or whatever evidence you have). That might help to prove your claim...
