stopping application under further checks

Post by Abou » Sat Sep 04, 2010 11:01 am

Hey

I have a couple of questions.

I applied for a tier 1 visa July 18 in Doha but the application is still under processing at the british high commission till now. in the only response to me I have been advised that my application is under further checks and I don't know how long does that take. it has been 7 weeks and on the website applications almost never take that long here.

However, I need to go to the UK for an important meeting with my current employer and I'm not sure if the passport would return back to me in time to be able to do that. and what's really frustrating is that the BHC don't reply to any of my enquiries.

my first question is, can it be possible I withdrew my passport without canceling the application and apply for a short term business visa to catch that meeting and then when I'm back I resume my tier 1 application again? or will that potentially cause a problem with my current application?

Second question is why would it take such long time and what is the process of those further checks.

I appreciate the advise - Thanks

If you need your passport back, then the only way is to withdraw your application.

Hi ,

Q1 : You have to go to VFS and give them in written that you are going to with draw your application and no refunds will be made in that case.

Q2 : Well ! if your first TIER1 visa application has gone for checks than i am sure your second application will also land in the same basket. So i am little bit confuse here .... about your situation

Best thing .. wait a little bit and keep finger crossed .......
Thanks

Ali
