Maintenance dates and transactions...plz help

Post by nehagharge » Sat Sep 25, 2010 7:21 pm

I have been maintaining £1400 from 27th June 2010 to switch to tier 1 gen dependent. So just bit confused. Do i need to maintain the funds until 27th September i.e. according to dates or do i have to maintain according to 90 days period i.e. until 24th September...

My other query is i have been maintaning funds in joing act vth my husband and we haven't done much transactions in it. The account was just used for maintenance of funds and funds transfer.. will this be a problem

Please advise..

Rgds,
Neha

Read the guidance notes carefully, it does not say 90 days. Instead the reference is to 3 calendar months immediately prior to the application date - [Edited] this is wrong!! Please see my response below.

The guidance states:

Personal bank or building society statements covering a consecutive 90 day period: The most recent statement must be dated no more than one calendar month before the date of application.

Hi Push,

3 Calendar months??
I never read that anywhere!
The reason I am highlighting this is because 90 days can occur anytime...for e.g. starting 1st May 2010, 90 days ends on Jult 29, 2010

So for 27th June 2010, 90 days ends at 25th Sep, 2010.

You could very well show statements till 27th Sep,2010.
Thanks,
Sumit.

Stand corrected. UKBA seems to have recently changed the requirement from 3 months to 90 days. This is the archived version of the website where it clearly says the requirement is for 3 months and not 90 days.

For avoidance of doubt, let me restate that the requirement now is for 90 days. neosumit thanks for highlighting this.

The requirement to maintain maintenance funds was 3 months as late as August as this link would show. HO seems to have changed it thereafter. Clearly I need to read the latest guidance again.
