Tier One(GM) Dependent Visa-Rejected

Post by mijothomas » Mon Jan 24, 2011 7:16 am

Hi,

Got my kids visa from VFS today and to my surprise the entry clearance sta nds rejected. They have cited fund maintainance as the reason, which was very silly & naive. Here is what happened..I have 2 accounts in UK with CITI bank, a current and a savers account. I used to transfer funds from Current to savings every month, being wary of all ATM frauds happening there.I have submitted the statements for both the accounts and has even mentioned this in the covering letter that I do operate on both the accounts.

While rejecting the application the ECO has cited that on a particular day my Current account has a balance of £350 and on another day my savings account had a balance of £5, however on both those days my respective Savings & current account was holding more than £3000, which he overlooked.

Now I have 2 options, one is to go for an appeal and the other is to file a new application. My question is..if I go for an appeal what would be the turn around time, will it be done in 2 weeks or as I read somewhere will it take months?
I'm bit confused on this one, any advice would be highly appreciated.

Also, here is what I'm planning to do while appealing..attach all photocopies of my account and provide them a monthly summary view of my account highlighting what was in my current & savings account on a per day basis. Please do you think anything else should be done?

Thanks,
-Thomas
