English Language Requirement

Post by sanjayrocks » Tue Feb 22, 2011 9:48 am

Hi,

Is a Professional qualification(British Computer Society - Level 6) obtained in outside Uk acceptable as the requirement for the Language? I have seen in the guidelines that they always mention about the Academic Qualifications rather than Professional qualifications.

Can i use the IELTS results (i received 8.0 Academic) which i received 2006?

Thank you

No.

IMHO, having looked at the website, policy guidance and the relevant immigration rules, I haven't been able to find anywhere that an examination result must be presented within its validity period else it will not be accepted by UKBA. Neither does UKBA mention anywhere that an applicant must present a "valid" examination test report.

Just as an applicant may have been awarded a degree (acceptable to UKBA for the purpose of proving English language proficiency of an applicant) many years ago but is still accepted by UKBA, similarly an examination result (e.g. - IELTS) should be accepted by UKBA irrespective of when the applicant may have passed the said examination.
