tier1 implication

Post by tier1again » Thu Feb 24, 2011 10:52 pm

Hi,

I am in UK and was under ICT previously and have now shifted to tier1. However, before coming over to UK my employer had asked me to sign a doc which stated that I was liable to legal action in the country of deputation (which in this case is UK) in case I changed my legal status.
My employer used to have this provision previously as well but they used to state that the legal action would be carried out in the original country of residence/employment.

Is it true that they can legally sue me - though the law of the land permits to do this?
Any insight will be most helpful.

Regards

About legal letter/bond, if you have signed it then yes they can go to court (doesnt mean that you will be convicted however)..

I can bet that your employer is an typical IT co which treat their employees as *slaves*..They dont want you to leave them :( .

I fyou had already signed the letter, then you are taking a risk..If your employer name is TC* ,then no one can save you

I really doubt that they can do anything in the UK.

Your MP may be interested in seeing this. I really do believe they don't know what these companies do! Some companies even have given evidence in front of the Home Affairs Select Commitee about their staff and immigration.

You may want to do this once you have left!!!

All I can think of is that the company may have to pay more tax if you switch immigration status because you intend to stay in the UK.
