Tier -1 General Dependent visa Queries

Post by Ragidosa » Sun Mar 20, 2011 9:06 pm

Hi All,

After going thru some of the new threads I am very confused on the
Maintenance Fund required for applying dependent visa.

I have been in the UK for 4 months now on Tier -1 visa and I have maintained an amount of £4000 in my bank account for the last 3 months. Is this amount enough? or should I have to maintain £1600+2800 = £4400?

Can I state in my covering that I have maintained £4000 as a minimum balance for 3 months in my account and my wife has a minimum balance of £5000 for the past 3 months in her amount? Which in total is £9000.

Will this confuse the officer?

Please advice

This is an extract from the cover letter Iam planning to submit. Please let me know if this is correct

My Bank Account: XXXXXX Sort code: XXXXXX, XXXX, UK
- Statement showing my savings from the last 3 months (25-Dec-2010 to 25-Mar-2011).

My wife Bank Account xxxxxx, XXXXXXX, USA
- Statement showing my wife savings from the last 3 months (01-Jan-2011 to 01-Apr-2011)

I am maintaining more than £4000 funds in my UK bank account for more than the last three months and my wife is maintaining more than $8500 equal to £XXX at a conversion rate of USD X.XX per GBP as on XX-XX-XXXX from http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/

Kindly treat the statements from my bank Account XXXXXXX and the statements from my wife bank account xxxxxxxx as the proof of maintenance funds.

Kindly note that I have not enclosed any letter from the Bank (XXXX UK). When I checked with XXXX UK they said they do not provide any letters stating the minimum balance for an account and the account statement is sufficient to provide details on the balance.

- Salary slips for the last 4 months from XXXXXX as a supporting document.
- Please note that my salary credits from XXXXXXXXX are listed in the same statement. The statement is in four sheets on the banks letterhead.
